Telopea Family Support is a service that reaches out to families experiencing crisis or facing issues that require support to overcome.
We use a holistic approach and aim to improve family well-being through practical, emotional and educational support.
Family workers meet with the parent, child or family to discuss their hopes for change and how this might happen.
Families may want to discuss issues such as:
We journey with the family through these difficult times.
Families with dependent children (0-16yrs) who live in Dundas, Telopea, Rydalmere, Ermington and parts of North Parramatta, Carlingford and Epping.
To make an enquiry, families can call the centre and speak to the Intake Worker.
Families can also be referred by someone else, such as a school counsellor, Dept of Community Services worker, Local Doctor, Early Childhood Nurse.
Our family workers are highly competent and trained in counselling practice. This enables us to work with families toward achieving their goals with confidence.
Information, referral, advocacy and linking with other services.This may include drawing the services involved with a family together to ensure the concerns of the family are worked through. Assistance in finding information or accessing appropriate services when needed.
The service runs several parent groups each term. Topics offered might explore parenting issues, self esteem, managing stress, specialist support groups. We also run groups and courses for children.The groups vary according to changing community needs and available funding.
We also have an Autism/ADD Support Group which runs once per month. For more details on groups currently running, Family Support Groups

Telopea Family Support is auspiced by Telopea Family Resources Inc and CareWorks, and has DGR and PBI status.
We receive funding from NSW Community Services to run our family case management, counselling and some of our parent groups.
Our Emergency Relief service is supported from State and Commonwealth government funding, as well as other donations from the community.
The No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) is funded by State and Commonwealth government and NAB.
We rely on private donations and one-off local council and non-government grants to finance our special projects, such as our Equip parenting program, supported playgroup and groups for young people.

All donations to Telopea Family Resources Inc over $2 are tax deductible. To receive a receipt for your donation, please send an email to admin@tfs.org.au with your name, address and date and amount of donation so that a tax receipt can be sent to you promptly.
